Mild Hybrid A full hybrid vehicle uses a small battery to increase fuel efficiency and boost performance. There’s a very limited electric-only range (usually no more than five miles) and the vehicle needn’t be plugged in. View Models

Plug-in Hybrid A plug-in hybrid vehicle is fitted with a larger battery and electric motor, providing an electric-only range of 30-40 miles. It must be plugged into an electricity source to charge. View Models

All-Electric An all-electric vehicle (EV) uses a battery pack and electric motor in place of an internal combustion engine. Many modern EVs can cover 100-300 miles on a single charge. They must be plugged in to charge. View Models

What is a Hybrid Vehicle?

A hybrid vehicle combines a combustion engine with a battery pack and electric motor. Both sources provide power and the motor helps to improve efficiency.

Hybrid vs plug-in hybrid

Mild hybrid vehicles - i.e. those with self charging technology - are often able to simply complement the performance of the fuel engine, sometimes providing all-electric capability for a short period of time. Plug-in hybrids, meanwhile, provide a greater range thanks to being able to hold a greater charge in its battery.

Where can I charge my electric vehicle?

Electric cars can be charged at home using a domestic socket or wallbox, or at one of the many public charging points across the country.

How do electric vehicles work?

Instead of a combustion engine, fully electric cars use a battery pack and either one or two electric motors to propel them.

How often do hybrid batteries need replacing?

Hybrid batteries are made to last and typically come with a warranty of 8-12 years. As such, they rarely need replacing during the vehicle’s lifetime.

How efficient are Electric Vehicles compared to standard Diesel/Petrol Vehicles?
